- Society examines how a third country impacts the U.S.-Japan relationship (prior trilogies include China, Korea, Russia, Taiwan, Southeast Asia; will next focus on India)

- conducted panel session on Ehime Maru lessons learned to educate members and public about the apology issue from Japanese and American standpoints and on the Buddhist religion and why recovery of the Ehime Maru was so important to the families of the missing

- Conducted to raise awareness of terrorism and impact on way we live and how it could impact U.S.-Japan relations
- First program held with Chief of Police Lee Donohue who spoke about measures taken to protect citizens and visitors
- Second program held on immigration with Eric Kawatani, Immigration Attorney; David Gulick from the Immigration and Naturalization Service; Emogene Estores from DBED&T; and Dr. Bernard Chong from Hawaii Pacific University
- Third in series covered Transportation Security with Sidney Hayakawa, Federal Director for TSA Honolulu International Airport
