Mid-Pacific Country Club

We're excited to again team up with Mauna Loa Helicopters to host a Golf Ball Drop, where we'll be dropping 1,000 numbered golf balls over a target hole! The five balls that enter or fall closest to the hole will win prizes! This event will be great fun for everyone (not just golfers!), and you do not need to be registered for the Friendship Golf Classic or present during the Awards Pau Hana to WIN!

The Ball Drop will take place on Monday, July 19, 2021 (around 11:10am HST) just before the start of the tournament, and our FIVE PRIZE-WINNERS will be announced during the virtual Awards Pau Hana on Thursday, July 22 at 5pm via Zoom. Winners will be contacted shortly after the big announcement!

You may purchase golf balls to enter the Ball Drop through PayPal using the button below. Proceeds will go to the Japan-America Society of Hawaii to help us continue bringing you educational, cultural, and business-minded programs.

You do not need to be present for the drop or playing in the tournament to participate in the Ball Drop, and you may enter as many times as you wish. After purchase, participants will receive a numbered ticket, numbers will correspond to the order purchased. All 1,000 dropped golf balls will also be numbered such that the number on your ticket corresponds to one of the balls. All golf ball purchases are final and non-refundable. By entering the Golf Ball Drop, the purchaser acknowledges that he or she is aware of, and agrees to abide by, the Golf Ball Drop Rules. Odds of winning depend on the number of golf balls sold, as well as where they land when dropped.

1,000 individually numbered golf balls will rain down, quickly filling the hole. Five participants whose numbered golf balls go into the hole or fall closest to the hole will win prizes. The ball that first goes into the hole is the grand prize winner. If multiple balls go in the hole, the ball at the bottom of the hole will be determined the grand prize winner. If no ball goes in the hole, then the ball landing closest to the hole will be the winner. The next closest to (or in) the hole will be determined 2nd Place, the next 3rd, then 4th, and 5th by proximity to the hole. The ball's distance from the hole will be determined by measuring in a straight line from the center of the hole to the ball. Decisions by pre-selected Golf Ball Drop Judges will be final and binding. The winners will be announced at the virtual awards ceremony (July 22, 2021) for the 31st Annual Friendship Golf Classic. Winners not present will be notified by phone, mail or email based on contact information supplied. If a winner cannot be located or fails to claim prize within ten (10) days after notification, the prize will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner. Decisions of contest judges are final.

Entry purchasers, by participating (and winners, by accepting a prize), HEREBY RELEASE, DISCHARGE AND PROMISE NOT TO SUE officers, directors, board members, executive management staff, employees, agents and representatives, advertising agencies and promotional partners of Japan-America Society of Hawaii, the Mid-Pacific Country Club, and the ball drop helicopter or fire truck contractor and affiliates (each considered one of the “RELEASEES” Herein), from any and all liability, loss, harm, injury, damage, cost and expense whatsoever arising directly or indirectly with respect to participation in the promotion, possession, use and distribution of prizes awarded. By purchasing tickets for the event, each winner consents, without limitation or additional compensation, to the use of his/her name, voice and/or photograph / video representation for advertising and/or trade purposes, except where prohibited by law.

All winners shall be responsible for any and all federal, state and local income or excise taxes, fees, assessments and like charges associated with the prizes. The price of a Golf Ball Drop ball is not a tax-deductible charitable contribution.
