ENTERTAINMENT

ANJU MADOKA is the representative of the Hawaii branch of the Japanese traditional folk songs school, Madoka no Kai. Born and raised in Osaka. Her first performance was at the age of two and a half. She has been training under her mother and master, Shouju Madoka, the head of the Madoka no Kai, since she was very young.
Anju has started the Hawaii branch of the Madoka no Kai, and in June 2022, she has been offering Minyo and shamisen classes on Oahu. In her first album "Gannenmono" (2020), she expresses her gratitude to all the Gannenmono and Japanese Americans who have preserved and passed on the Japanese culture. The album is now available on Apple music, Spotify, Amazon Music, and other streaming services.

DAZZ is a classical Japanese and Okinawan udui dancer from Kalihi, who has studied traditional dance in Okinawa. He performs with Azama Honryu Hawaii Shibu, with performances in Hawaii, Okinawa, and Carnegie Hall. Dazz found his love for dance when he took part in local Oahu bon dance festivities when he was young.

RYUGEN TAIKO was formed by Nolan Miyahara in May 2014 as a not for profit 501(c)3 organization to truly promote and preserve Taiko in Hawaii. Nolan Miyahara, former member of Hawaii Matsuri Taiko, and a proud Wahiawa native, has been playing Taiko for 29 years and counting. Nolan has had the honor to have worked with and been under the guidance of several Taiko masters. Taiko is in Nolan's blood and he looks forward to passing on Taiko to future generations.
