Moanalua High School Students Contribute to JASH Programs

From December 2023 through April 2024, JASH was fortunate to welcome two dedicated student volunteers from Moanalua High School: Kiana Watanabe and Ichiro Fujimoto. Their efforts brought fresh ideas and creativity to JASH’s outreach and educational activities.

Kiana took the lead on a social media campaign that featured monthly cultural posts on the JASH Facebook and Instagram accounts. She carefully designed engaging visuals and provided thoughtful explanations in both English and Japanese, making the content accessible to a wider audience.

Examples of Kiana’s work

Ichiro supported JASH by helping to translate the JASH brochure, providing the initial draft in Japanese and ensuring our materials could be shared with a broader community. He also created social media posts promoting JASH’s Sadako Peace Projects program, helping to spread awareness about its impact.

Together, their work not only enhanced JASH’s social media presence but also helped us connect more meaningfully with younger audiences. We are grateful for their commitment and enthusiasm, and we look forward to welcoming more student volunteers in the future!
