35th Annual JASH Friendship Golf Classic
On July 14, 2025, the Japan-America Society of Hawaii (JASH) hosted its 35th Annual Friendship Golf Classic at the beautiful Mid-Pacific Country Club. This year’s tournament was proudly presented by Pacific Guardian Life, a longtime supporter of JASH and this signature annual event.

This year, we were thrilled to welcome 60 three-player teams to the course! Participants enjoyed a fun-filled day packed with exciting on-course challenges, including the popular “Beat the Pro” with local PGA professional Corey Kozuma. New this year was a playful twist—our Marshmallow Game—which had winners walking away with a delicious s’mores kit! JASH NexGen members added to the festivities by serving their signature jello shots, while golfers cooled off with refreshing new beverage options like Island Maid’s Sparkling Water and locally brewed Inu Island Ales.
The tournament kicked off with a powerful and energetic taiko performance by Somei Taiko, setting an exciting tone for the day ahead.
Reyna Kaneko, President of the Japan-America Society of Hawaii, warmly welcomed 180 players to a SOLD-OUT tournament. Just before the 11:30 a.m. shotgun start, volunteers distributed celebratory kanpai sake—generously donated by The Cherry Co., Ltd.—to all participants, setting a festive tone for the day.
