JASH Engages Community at 2025 Megabon Hawaii

On Saturday, September 13, 2025, JASH staff and volunteers came together to celebrate community and culture at the 3rd Annual Megabon Hawaii, an annual festival highlighting Japanese traditions, community, and local businesses. Organized by JCI Honolulu and Hawaii Todaiji, the event seeks to continue the tradition of bon dance in Hawaii, providing a festive and welcoming experience for attendees of all ages.

Members of the 2025 Japan Wizards Competition (JWC) winning team from Hawaii Baptist Academy, along with our 2025 Hiroshima Peace Scholars (HPS), brought energy and enthusiasm to the JASH booth by engaging visitors with games such as Spin the Wheel, featuring Japan travel trivia, and Kendama. They also helped share information about JASH programs and activities. Meanwhile, Asian-Pacific Children’s Convention (APCC) students and alumni volunteered at the Megabon games booths, creating a friendly and inviting environment throughout the festival.

We are proud of everyone who represented JASH, demonstrating teamwork, service, and community spirit.

A special mahalo to all students, volunteers, Board Directors, chaperones, and supporters including Ms. Karen Knudsen, Mr. Dan Dinell, and Ms. Ann Hartman for helping make this community celebration a success.
