JASH LangX Celebrates Its Biggest Turnout Yet

On Saturday, October 24, JASH welcomed 22 participants to the JASH Office for our largest LangX Language Exchange to date! The group included both native English and native Japanese speakers who came together to practice their language skills, learn from one another, and make new connections in a welcoming environment.

This session featured three interactive games designed to make speaking a new language feel more approachable. During Bilingual Bingo, participants moved around the room, asked one another questions, and learned interesting facts about their new friends. In Teach Me Something, partners shared useful words, everyday expressions, and cultural knowledge from their native languages. The program concluded with Guess the Word, a lively team activity that challenged participants to describe words in the language they were learning.

The game-based format helped create a relaxed atmosphere and brought out the confidence of some of our shyest attendees. As the program continued, conversations became more natural, participants became more comfortable speaking, and plenty of laughter filled the room. Even after the activities ended, many attendees stayed behind to continue talking, exchange contact information, and share their excitement for the next LangX.

JASH LangX will now be offered quarterly, with our next session planned for March 2027. Keep an eye out for the upcoming save-the-date and registration announcement!

Registration is $10 for JASH members and $15 for non-members. Non-members who bring a friend can receive the member rate. We look forward to welcoming back familiar faces and meeting even more language learners at our next exchange!
